Leading Albany trainer Steve Wolfe presents a strong lineup of stable representatives for the final meeting to the Albany Racing Club season.
With the trainers premiership already in the bag, Wolfe will be looking to nail the door shut with legitimate chances in four of the seven remaining races.
King Closet ($3.50) and Total Reject ($5.00) start off proceedings for Wolfe in the Due South Tavern BM56+ HCP 1242m.
King Closet impressed last start with a crushing 3 ½ length maiden victory on its home turf, while Total Reject has shown some promising signs in recent runs and will be aiming for a trouble free passage in the six horse field.
In the PTR Asset Finance Maiden 1242m Wolfe has the favourite Acquitted ($2.50 fav) who raced wide last start when finishing 1 ¼ lengths off the pace, while his other runner Kostyazilch ($5.00) would have benefited from its debut performance after being soundly beaten by stablemate King Closet in its first outing.
Cows With Guns ($7.50) will be hoping to replicate its stunning first up win in the Balgownie Equine Centre RST64 HCP 1242m, and will line up against Goneagain ($7.50) who should strip fitter from a disappointing first up seventh placing.
In the final race of the Albany season – the Skyracing.TV Prov C’Ship BM58+ HCP 1534m – Tee Pee Cat ($3.50 fav) looks nicely placed to score back to back wins, while Harp Inn ($15.00), Barely A Cabernet ($15.00), and Liquid Legends ($17.00) present as rough chances for the stable.
With an unassailable lead in the local trainer’s premiership, Wolfe is set to extend his 13 win margin and continue his domination of Great Southern racing.
