Owner breeder Des De Largie is grinning from ear to ear with the performances of his exciting filly Sheidel, who played with her opposition yesterday at Ascot in the Westminster Property (BM62+) 3YO race over 1000 metres.
Going into the race, she was aiming to make it three for three this campaign. The win now takes her record to five wins from seven starts and $215,000 in prize money and Westspeed bonuses.
The filly is by Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) out of the Metal Storm mare Laventour, making her a half-sister to Latoria, the winner of the 2011 Listed Summer Sorcher at Ascot. Latoria retired a winner of seven races and over $230,000 in prize money. De Largie also bred and raced Latoria.
Trainer David Harrison has done a great job with this filly, guiding her to a winning strike rate of 71%.
Before the race Harrison told OzRace the plan was to head to the $100,000 Kalatiara Classic for fillies and mares over 1200 metres to be run on Karrakatta Plate day.
