Lark Hill trainer Vaughan Sigley heads to Pinjarra on Sunday with a two prong attack in the $100,000 Listed Chaff City Pinjarra Classic 1300m.
Leading the early fixed odd market, Summer Scorcher and Cyril Flower Stakes victor Black Heart Bart ($2.50 fav) will be piloted by jockey Glenn Smith who will have his work cut out with a massive handicap of 59kgs to contend with.
It will the heaviest weight the Blackfriars 4yo has had to lug around to date, but the ledger has been somewhat balanced having drawn favourably in barrier two.
Sigley’s other hope in the race is the Miss Andretti Stakes winner Dawn Approach ($9.00) who was well beaten by its fancied stablemate last start in the Cyril Flower, but does receive a 4kg advantage in the weights and a good draw from barrier five to even the playing field.
Also well specked in the market, the Sharon Miller trained duo Sireeze ($6.00) and Stagnite ($7.00) come in on the second and fourth line of betting respectively, however the former has to the negotiate a tricky wide gate (barrier 10).
Another drawn poorly is last start winner New Time ($6.50) for Jim Taylor, and the dazzling turn of foot we saw last weekend at Ascot will be very much required at the business end Sunday if the Key Business 7yo is to feature in the finish.
