WA Tipster of the Month – August

Welcome to the article that keeps punters informed about the best performing WA racing tipsters each month.

We’re shining the spotlight on form analysts who tip at West Australian race meetings and we’re reporting the biggest profit makers in this article.

Without doubt August was one of the toughest months on the punt for WA form analysts for some time. Only 11% of racing experts in the media managed to finish the month in the black.

With 114mm average rainfall in August, topping 200mm in some regions, the media experts can easily be forgiven for trying to catch the multitude of form reversals that played out.

Interestingly, WA betting plunges were well in the money in August, with a popular Plunge App recording 24% profit on turnover from it’s August plunges. A possible indicator that not all the intel was available in form guides or video replays for WA racing.

Of the WA tipsters that managed to finish in the black, there were two standouts amongst the carnage.

Aaron Mills from racing website Racenet was the shining light, notching up a very healthy 137% profit on turnover from his Saturday best bets. Aaron is an up and coming analyst and certainly helped support that view in August with his performance.

Ian Russell from the Telegraph in Sydney was the other standout. Russell covers several meetings across the country as part of his role at News but his West Australian tips were his strength.

Russell racked up a 33% strike rate with his winners averaging $3.57 to give followers of this WA tips a 19% profit on turnover.
