Venetian Prince has ended a drought of 427 days between victories with the magic touch of apprentice Mitchell Pateman, producing a wonderful victory in the TABtouch-The Home Of Racing & Sport Handicap.
After a luckless performance at Pinjarra last start, Venetian Prince drew tighter today but was extracted well down the outside of the track, defeating Moment Of Love and the unlucky Ruby’s Image.
Having only previously won three times from 44 starts, financial support came for the six year old gelding and he honoured the wagers in style.
Moment Of Love did it tough again, travelling wide no cover for the entire, whilst Ruby’s Image was desperately unlucky as she searched for a run in the straight.
Venetian Prince won in 1.25.27, winning by 1.25 lengths.
