Adam Durrant has brought Tower Of Lonhro to Belmont, with 61.5 kilograms and has once again left with first place.
Sitting rearward once again, and yielding a significant weight advantage to Fancy Feet, Aske Me Nicely, Cyber Crime and Ram Jam, class and Joseph Azzopardi reigned supreme.
Swooping with momentum saw Tower Of Lonhro hold off the well supported stable-mate Gladstone, as the two Durrant gallopers finished ahead of Ask Me Nicely. Gladstone really impressed after 28 days between runs and stepping up to the 2100 meters from the 1400 meters last start, to end up just a length behind the winner.
Ask Me Nicely started as favourite and appeared luckless in the straight, as apprentice Jake Casey searched for a run out wide, that didn’t present until the race was done and dusted.
Tower Of Lonhro won in 2.13.60 and by a length, claiming his 13th win from 32 starts.
