Race 1 – 12:04PM BUNBURY APARTMENT MOTEL MAIDEN (1412 METRES)

This looks the right race for LADIES OF LONDON. Runner up narrowly when well supported at both outings so far and expecting her to go one better in this. Found herself in front last start and boxed on well under hard riding late, and anticipating similar positive tactics on this occasion. I HOPE YOU DANCE was held up at a vital stage on debut and probably should’ve won. Will benefit from the race experience and should go close again. BRAVE CALL caught the eye when running on strong first up and will relish the rise in distance, while KREUZER should be peaking third up from the inside alley.

Tips: 8-9-6-5
Suggested: 8. LADIES OF LONDON win.

9. I HOPE YOU DANCE
6. BRAVE CALL
5. KREUZER

Race 2 – 12:42PM TABTOUCH BETTER YOUR BET MAIDEN (1412 METRES)

Quirky-but-talented youngster WORTH SQUARE gets his chance. Has loomed with a full head of steam at both starts this prep only to hit the wall hard and paddle over the finish line. Trevor Andrews has given him a light freshen since his last outing and lodged a gear change, and Worth Square maps to get it nice and soft from the low draw. Saved up for one run and he can get it done. RETURN A SMILE encountered traffic issues at Belmont last start and the run was better than it reads. SIMONELLY has worked home well at both runs this campaign, while likely leader MICHELLE MA BELLE can box on.

Tips: 2-6-7-1
Suggested: 2. WORTH SQUARE win.

6. SIMONELLY
7. MICHELLE MA BELLE
1. REDMILL

Race 3 – 1:17PM GLENROY CHAFF MAIDEN (1412 METRES)

Looks a race in two and ended up with AMILLIONITE just shading FIRESALE. Amillionite hasn’t been far away in two runs at this track this time in and was forced to cover additional ground in running when narrowly edged out last start. Maps superbly from the low draw and hard to go against the Pike/Durrant combo. Firesale will have his share of admirers after having excuses when heavily supported two weeks back. Low draw suits and should figure. RAYMONDO whacked away second up and expecting him to roll forward from the high draw, while MUMSTHEONE should be doing his best work late.

Tips: 8-2-3-11
Suggested: 8. AMILLIONITE win.

2. FIRESALE
3. RAYMONDO
11. JINDA NINJA

Race 4 – 1:52PM TRACK FASHION MANDURAH MARINA MAIDEN (2000 METRES)

Will be very short, but DELTA BELLE should be winning. The Peters Investments filly had absolutely no luck on debut and put the writing on the wall with a big-finishing third at Belmont last time, clocking strong closing sectionals. Definite staying type, so the quick rise to 2000m shouldn’t be an issue, and Pike will be looking to hold a more prominent running position from gate one. Likely leader HIGHEST REGARD has a 2000m run under his belt and will be rock-hard third up. Looks most likely to cause the upset. AL’S FAMOUS usually get back and runs on well, while VICTORIOUSCHINO is next best.

Tips: 10-4-8-5
Suggested: 10. DELTA BELLE win.

10. DELTA BELLE
4. HIGHEST REGARD
8. AL’S FAMOUS
5. ROCKFORD LEGEND

Race 5 – 2:27PM 100 CLUB APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN MAIDEN (1000 METRES)

Difficult race to assess and with low confidence opted to side with THE FINEST. Tracked this fellow closely last prep and, after showing up at trials, ran some nice races against quality opposition in town. Trialled well enough recently and he can give this a nudge. INDIGO WILD will appreciate coming back to the Straight 1000 after going out hard and popping late over 1200m last time. Pike back on is an obvious positive also. SKY FIVE showed gate speed and boxed on well on debut, no surprise to see IT’S TIFF’S improve second up, while emergencies ROSEICAPILLA and WAR SECRETS are chances also.

Tips: 2-7-3-10
Suggested: 2. THE FINEST each way.

2. THE FINEST
7. INDIGO WILD
3. SKY FIVE
10. IT’S TIFF’S

Race 6 – 3:05PM A1 LOCKSMITH HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

Open race with 10 of the 12 acceptors capable of winning, and WIENER WALTZ eventually got the nod. Wasn’t far away in town first up and knocked off subsequent winner Seven Castles in a very fast race at Northam last time. 42-days between runs, but suited drawing Grandstand-side of the Straight 1000 and is certainly good enough if right. First-upper NICKEL QUEEN has some class about her and expecting a big fresh effort from her. SMART FOX enjoys the Straight 1000 and can elevate second up, while SOUNDS OF THEN looked very sharp in her recent Lark Hill trial and get impact first up.

Tips: 6-1-11-7
Suggested: 6. WIENER WALTZ win.

6. WIENER WALTZ
1. SMART FOX
11. SOUNDS OF THEN
7. CLASSIC CHANT

Race 7 – 3:40PM BOWDEN SELECT HANDICAP (2000 METRES)

ZARATITE stands out as the horse to beat. Have a strong opinion of this guy, but he hasn’t quite been able to get it done when short in the market at both runs this prep, although he really was a good thing beat last start. Ready to peak third up and looking forward to see him stretched out to 2000m for the first time. BRITISH BESSY is certainly capable of taking it right up to Zaratite and looks the major threat. Will enjoy the longer journey with Pike back on. Eastern-states import HERE COMES LENNI can make an impact third up from gate one, while MEKONG DEN is race fit and holding form.

Tips: 2-6-4-7
Suggested: 2. ZARATITE win.

2. ZARATITE
6. BRITISH BESSY
4. HERE COMES LENNI
7. MEKONG DEN

Race 8 – 4:15PM RACING AT PINJARRA PARK THURSDAY 25TH JULY HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

Really looking forward to seeing what EARLY EXPLORER can do first up. Appeared above average last prep and rounded out the campaign with a fighting Ascot win against some decent opposition. Likely holds a midfield running position, but does possess the closing speed to swoop over the top. Nice horse in the making. STORMY RULER boxed on well after leading them up at Belmont fresh and capable of improving further with that hit out under his belt. STREET FAIR impressed when launching late to win last time, while I’M PRETTY has a good track/distance record and hails from the right camp.

Tips: 1-3-4-9
Suggested: 1. EARLY EXPLORER win.

1. EARLY EXPLORER
3. STORMY RULER
4. STREET FAIR
9. I’M PRETTY

Race 9 – 4:55PM INTEGRA INSURANCE HANDICAP (1500 METRES)

Looking for ‘The Wizard’ Pike to do his thing in the last aboard FOUR WHITE FOX. Unwanted in betting ($14 to $26) first-up with a junior on board and after getting out of his ground, he ran on well with some strong closing splits. Has been below his best over the last 12 months, but that fresh effort was encouraging and Pike jumps on. PURE MAGNUS had some genuine excuses at Belmont last time and expecting him to rebound quickly against this line up. AL DI LA is a tough on-pacer and should take some running down again, while anticipating improvement from SCANDAL MAKER and INVISIBLE PRO.

Tips: 6-7-3-2
Suggested: 6. FOUR WHITE FOX each way.

6. FOUR WHITE FOX
7. PURE MAGNUS
3. AL DI LA
2. SCANDAL MAKER
