Race 1 – 12:58PM TABTOUCH – BETTER YOUR BET MAIDEN (1500 METRES)

After being a moral beaten last start, locking in WEE RIPPER on top. Huge in defeat in a strong Ascot 23/01 maiden, losing ground when trapped behind a tiring stablemate on the turn before launching late with the third fastest last 200m of the day. Jockey Shaun O’Donnell has his eye in and with even luck Wee Ripper goes close. OUR GIRL MARLI caught the eye when charging home second up and maps to advantage from the inside alley. Will have plenty of admirers. SCINTILLATING continues to try hard and deserves to have won a race by now, while SPIRITED SNITZEL should compete well from the low draw.

Tips: 8-10-1-11
Suggested: 8. WEE RIPPER win.

8. WEE RIPPER
10. OUR GIRL MARLI
1. SCINTILLATING
11. SPIRITED SNITZEL

Race 2 – 1:38PM PEEL FLOWER HOUSE HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

After a shock defeat last Saturday, expecting CAPTAIN STIRLING to hit back down the straight 1000m circuit. Was backed as if unbeatable when a $1.50 favourite, however, after rolling away from the rail, Snow Lord was able to get up on the inside and nail him on the line. Previous win down this track/distance was dominant and if he holds form, he should be too fast. NIGHT VOYAGE and DAM READY are up in the weights with junior riders booked, but both are capable of winning at their best. Drawn the right side of the track also, while no surprise to see SHARPBOB improve with the blinkers on.

Tips: 6-2-1-11
Suggested: 6. CAPTAIN STIRLING win.

6. CAPTAIN STIRLING
2. NIGHT VOYAGE
1. DAM READY
11. SHARPBOB

Race 3 – 2:18PM GLENROY CHAFF HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

The first-up performance of THREE SECRETS was too good to ignore and he goes in on top. Showed a heap of potential as a 3YO, and was returning from injury at Ascot 19/01 when travelling three-and-four wide the entire, before unleashing the fastest final 400m and 200m splits on the card. 21 days between runs suits and Three Secrets is a major player. The hard-going CAROCAPO hasn’t quite been able to hold on at both runs this prep, but should find the front again and give them something to catch. Stablemates DANNY GEORGE and DELANEY have ability, and map to advantage.

Tips: 8-9-7-13
Suggested: 8. THREE SECRETS each way.

8. THREE SECRETS
9. CAROCAPO
7. DANNY GEORGE
13. DELANEY

Race 4 – 2:55PM THOROUGHBRED BREEDERS WA PEARL CLASSIC (1400 METRES)

MIKIMOTO is the obvious and all things being equal should be winning. Showed elite talent as a 3YO and was very heavily commissioned at her first run back from injury at Ascot 19/01, but after sustaining a long forward run she just peaked late. Big effort all the same and that searching hit out in a fast race should give her the platform to elevate second up. PRINCESS ZELDA looks the only one capable of causing an upset. Her last-start figures were through the roof and if she can hold that peak, could make things interesting. RESISTANCE and ROYAL MISSILE round out the top four.

Tips: 2-3-4-1
Suggested: 2. MIKIMOTO win.

2. MIKIMOTO
3. PRINCESS ZELDA
4. RESISTANCE
1. ROYAL MISSILE

Race 5 – 3:30PM DUCIMUS@RIVERCRESTPARK HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

Open race with most runners capable of winning at their best. Decided to side with ALPHA SKY after his fast Ascot 19/01 1200m win, when ridden positively with the blinkers on to race outside leader and giving a strong kick late. Is still a work in progress, but has significant raw talent, and with positive tactics from a mid draw he’ll take some beating. FORCEFUL delivered third up with a booming finish to get the better of BEAT THE DEVIL. Both those gallopers look suited in this event and expecting them to fight out the finish again, while RED PUBLISHER maps well and loves Pinjarra.

Tips: 4-3-8-2
Suggested: 4. ALPHA SKY each way.

4. ALPHA SKY
3. FORCEFUL
8. BEAT THE DEVIL
2. RED PUBLISHER

Race 6 – 4:05PM MAGIC MILLIONS WA 2YO CLASSIC (1200 METRES)

Exciting filly NICCOVI looks the horse to beat. Not a lot went right on debut after being hammered into $1.95 favourite in the Initial Plate last October, but she stretched out impressively with the blinkers on in her Lark Hill 29/01 trial, shading JERICHO MISSILE late. Low draw suits, while the Miller stable excel with their 2YOs and this filly looks the real deal. Jericho Missile has a stack of talent also and will be a worthy adversary. Pike goes on. MISS WEST COAST is taking on tougher opposition, but is race fit and in top form, while likely leader MIA DOLCE can show some cheek.

Tips: 9-1-3-4
Suggested: 9. NICCOVI win.

9. NICCOVI
1. JERICHO MISSILE
3. MISS WEST COAST
4. MIA DOLCE

Race 7 – 4:42PM MAGIC MILLIONS WA 3YO TROPHY (1200 METRES)

The gifted PLATOON can give this a big shake fresh. Has run some mighty races at the highest level in the past and expecting to see an improved version of Platoon after being gelded. Sharpened up for this with a Belmont 4/01 trial hit out, minus blinkers, and he should be very strong as the end of a genuinely run 1200m. CHIX PIC is all class and had the audacity to stretch Material Man in a Lark Hill 29/01 trial. Must to be respected. Boom youngster SAMIZDAT looks the goods and is set to attract a wave of support, but this is a big test, while likely leader FREE MOVER should box on late.

Tips: 3-2-5-8
Suggested: 3. PLATOON each way.

3. PLATOON
2. CHIX PIC
5. SAMIZDAT
8. FREE MOVER

Race 8 – 5:22PM TABTOUCH – BETTER YOUR CLUB HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

Quality handicap to end the day and WESTERN TEMPLE looks ready to win third up. Needed the hit out fresh, before attacking the line with strength in the feeder race to this at Ascot 26/01. Will settle in the back half from the draw, but if Pike can keep him positioned within the strike zone, he has the closing speed to get the job done late. MY GREEK BOY returned to peak form against a similar line up last time and maps to enjoy another suitable run stalking a strong tempo. Rising star COME PLAY WITH ME maps rearwards, but will charge late, while in-form mare FONTAINEBLEAU must rate highly.

Tips: 6-2-4-1
Suggested: 6. WESTERN TEMPLE win.

6. WESTERN TEMPLE
2. MY GREEK BOY
4. COME PLAY WITH ME
1. FONTAINEBLEAU
