Race 1 – 12:13PM YARRADALE STUD TOM SAYERS MEMORIAL HANDICAP (1760 METRES)
Could this be the day for STREET FAIR? Fairly costly conveyance to follow, but had had some genuine excuses at Belmont recently and this small field will suit his get back/run on pattern of racing. Left along by Troy Turner early, Street Fair does have the closing speed to round them up late. STAADEN and MAGIC WILL REIGN are obvious major players and will have a heap of admirers should they back up after racing at Kalgoorlie 1/10, while CUBAN TWIST is unbeaten at this track and was sharpened up for this with a good Lark Hill 21/09 trial win.
Suggested: 7. STREET FAIR win.
7. STREET FAIR
3. MAGIC WILL REIGN
2. CUBAN TWIST
Race 2 – 12:52PM MCE HANDICAP (2100 METRES)
Expecting BOLLINGER BOY to prove very hard to beat. Was keen on him at Belmont 16/09 last start, but after looming to win he couldn’t quite get the job done. He was 1600m to 2100m third up on that occasion, so the searching hitout should’ve topped him off nicely for this assignment. With an economical run in transit, Bollinger Boy looks the one. FROSTY HEART has hit a purple patch of form and looks well placed by Paul Jordan. In form and race fit, he has to be considered. Quite liked the latest effort from PINK AND PURPLE and a senior hoop going back on is a big tick, while STAIRWAYTOTHEMOON will enjoy the 53kg after Madi Derrick’s claim.
Suggested: 1. BOLLINGER BOY win.
1. BOLLINGER BOY
3. FROSTY HEART
4. PINK AND PURPLE
Race 3 – 1:32PM SUEZ MAIDEN (1100 METRES)
BRAVE DREAM will be all the rage, but wouldn’t be surprised to see BOSNIPP take it right up to the likely short-priced fave. After some brilliant early trial form, Bosnipp has been a spruik horse that is yet to deliver, however, she will have come forward after her initial racing prep and should get every chance up on top of the speed. Justin Warwick has struggled to get her 100%, but if she turns up she can cause the upset. Not a lot went right for Brave Dream first up, but will elevate second up and this low draw suits. Does standout. Keep an eye on the market flucs with 400m trial winning first starter ISEERED ISEERED, while first-upper TALLINN rounds out the top four.
Suggested: 6. BOSNIPP win.
7. BRAVE DREAM
8. ISEERED ISEERED
Race 4 – 2:12PM LD TOTAL HANDICAP (1100 METRES)
Thinking the best of SOME SORT could see him get over the top of slick front-runner MERVYN. Was out of sorts when last in work, but looked right back on track with a smart Lark Hill 21/09 trial win. From this draw, Jade McNaught should have Some Sort in a stalking position and looks set to get the last crack. Mervyn is very fast and is ridden to maximise his assets by Laqdar Ramoly he’ll have them gasping for air. First-upper SHERPA LASS has a good record and is another who’ll be well positioned from the draw, while no surprise to see NIGHT VOYAGE make his presence felt.
Suggested: 8. SOME SORT win.
8. SOME SORT
7. SHERPA LASS
2. NIGHT VOYAGE
Race 5 – 2:52PM NEO METALS HANDICAP (1300 METRES)
Looks a great option for MR GENOA to find some form. Has been off the scene for 70 days, but does return to a track where he’s unbeaten in three starts and this line up doesn’t look as strong as what he’s faced in town in 2020. Like the booking of Mitch Pateman also and with positive tactics Mr Genoa can get back on track. Interesting placement with promising 3YO filly INDIGO BLUE, but have to respect Adam Durrant and anticipating a competitive performance. INDIAN CHANT has to be in the mix also and just needs clear air from gate one, while WATTO’S FURY loves the Kalgoorlie 1300m and gets his chance up on top of the speed.
Suggested: 1. MR GENOA win.
1. MR GENOA
9. INDIGO BLUE
6. INDIAN CHANT
3. WATTO’S FURY
Race 6 – 3:30PM CITY OF KALGOORLIE BOULDER HANDICAP (1600 METRES)
BOGART is a recent arrival to the Adam Durrant yard and after running into plenty of strife first up at Belmont 23/09, this Peters Investments 4YO looks set to make amends. Proved a tough steer for apprentice Madi Derrick on that occasion, but hot-hoop Clint Johnston-Porter going on has to be a huge positive, as does the rise to 1600m and this low draw. Got some class about him and Bogart really should be winning. SLICED BREAD is city class and gets a soft run in transit from gate one. He can impact fresh, while Kalgoorlie locals STRATOCREED and MOSCHARD warrant consideration also.
Suggested: 3. BOGART win.
9. SLUICE BOX

Race 7 – 4:10PM ACCESS HIRE WESTSPEED PLATINUM HANDICAP (1400 METRES)
Siding with NATIVE CHIMES on top. Was chasing a hat-trick of wins at Belmont last start, but she didn’t fire on the day and trainer Justin Warwick has since opted to put the blinkers back on. Looks set to get the right run from this alley and her previous two Belmont victories were really full of merit. FIERY WATER has a heap of upside and will be hard to beat again, especially if he finds the rail in front without too much hassle. Consistent local STARALIGN dug deep to win last start and makes appeal from gate one, while BARTRADER has a terrific Kalgoorlie 1400m profile and should enjoy being back on a Good track.
Suggested: 4. NATIVE CHIMES win.
4. NATIVE CHIMES
3. FIERY WATER
Race 8 – 4:45PM IRON JACK KALGOORLIE CUP (2200 METRES)
Sticking with DIVINE SHADOW in the 2020 Kalgoorlie Cup. Was keen on this emerging staying talent in the lead-up Boulder Cup and while he couldn’t quite match FRIAR FOX late, he did have to plot a wider path than the winner and that hard hitout will bring him towards a peak. Love this draw for Divine Shadow and kept out of trouble by Troy Turner, he’s going to give this a mighty shake. Friar Fox has to be very hard to beat, having tapped into some peak form in the Goldfields recently. Will settle in the back half from this draw though. It’ll be some effort if COME PLAY WITH ME can carry 62kg to victory, while lightly-weighted stablemate MACKENZIE BROOKE already has an Albany Cup win to her name this year, and MISSILE LAUNCH was runner up in the 2020 Perth Cup.
Suggested: 6. DIVINE SHADOW win.
6. DIVINE SHADOW
4. FRIAR FOX
1. COME PLAY WITH ME
3. MISSILE LAUNCH

Race 9 – 5:25PM COASTAL MIDWEST TRANSPORT HANDICAP (1200 METRES)
Hard to look beyond SPECIAL CHOICE. Was having her first start for Adam Durrant at Belmont 19/09 and worked to the line well over an unsuitable 1000m, blowing out the cobwebs nicely ahead of this second-up assignment. Better placed over the 1200m and from this draw she maps to land in a commanding position in running. Few horses have raced as well as MANHATTAN MONEY in Kalgoorlie this year and she looks set to acquit herself well again. While stablemates CONCRETE MADAME and PASTRY have strong perk form and both will be in the fight for a top-four finish.
Suggested: 3. SPECIAL CHOICE win.
3. SPECIAL CHOICE
1. MANHATTAN MONEY
7. CONCRETE MADAME
