Race 1 – 1:49PM FREE ENTRY TO BELMONT PARK HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

Have liked what TUSCAN QUEEN has produced at trials so far and expecting the $300,000 yearling purchase to take some beating on debut. Ran into a smart one in Montelena at her initial trial and was working to the line with strength in her most recent Lark Hill 9/09 heat. No excuses in this small field. MOOD GODDESS was another Lark Hill 9/09 trial winner and she did gain race experience when last in work. Appears to have a bright future. PURE DYNAMITE steps up beyond 1000m and was a $2.25 fave last start, so have to respect that profile, while AMELIA’S CONTRAIRE can rebound quickly.

Tips: 6-5-1-3
Suggested: 6. TUSCAN QUEEN win.

3. AMELIA’S CONTRAIRE

Race 2 – 2:24PM TABTOUCH – BETTER YOUR BET MAIDEN (1200 METRES)

Anticipating a big debut performance from OCEAN’S FIFTEEN. An $NZ100,000 yearling purchase back in 2017, this fellow in unbeaten in three trials and looked nice-and-sharp with the blinkers added in his Lark Hill 26/08 heat win. Should roll forward and control the event from on top of the speed. CELIATORE ran on nicely when resuming at Northam, running some of the sharper late splits on the card. Likely to be strong at the finish again. Possible leader WARBLER can elevate with the blinkers going on, while first-upper SULPHUR CRESTED should be doing her best work late.

Tips: 2-6-5-3
Suggested: 2. OCEAN’S FIFTEEN win.

6. CELIATORE
5. WARBLER
3. SULPHUR CRESTED

Race 3 – 2:59PM ASCOT RACING CARNIVAL HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

EUROTRIP stands out as the horse to beat. Most impressive in his Pinjarra maiden win, knocking off the well-regarded Power Of St George, before being huge in defeat last fortnight, trekking three-wide the entire and still running the third-fastest last 200m on the day. Suited in this small field from a low draw and should have too much closing speed for these. NERODIO is the obvious main danger and certainly appears to have his share of ability. Was heavily backed when saluting first up. BOBCAT JOHNNIE led and got the job done first up, while fellow on-pacer STRASMORE is next best.

Tips: 4-2-1-3
Suggested: 4. EUROTRIP win.

2. NERODIO
1. BOBCAT JOHNNIE
3. STRASMORE

Race 4 – 3:35PM PRIVE FASHION PLATFORM HANDICAP (1650 METRES)

Thinking it might be the right race for KING OF JUDAH, especially with Pike going back on board. Ridden upside-down when well fancied two back, but put in a significant effort with a more patient approach last time, running on late despite covering plenty of additional ground in transit. Well placed in this smaller field and capable of swooping late. TONKATUFF is from a red-hot stable and is holding peak form in this grade. Goes close again. DECEPTION GAME is coming off a 32-day break, but can’t be underestimated with blinkers and McNaught on, while CHAPASCO is promising.

Tips: 6-3-1-4
Suggested: 6. KING OF JUDAH win.

3. TONKATUFF
1. DECEPTION GAME
4. CHAPASCO

Race 5 – 4:10PM GLENROY CHAFF HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

Keen on SPEEDY MISS. Attacked the line with strength first up and was most unlucky when encountering significant traffic issues two weeks back, and really should’ve fought out the finish. Jade McNaught going on is a massive positive considering her recent form, and with even luck from a low draw Speedy Miss should win. First-upper AVALON BAY is a horse with ability and has been readied for this with two solid trial hit outs. Will have plenty of admirers fresh. BOOTLEG RASCAL bolted in with the blinkers on at Kalgoorlie and must rate highly again, while IZZY MAY can improve with blinkers on.

Tips: 3-1-2-7
Suggested: 3. SPEEDY MISS win.

3. SPEEDY MISS
1. AVALON BAY
2. BOOTLEG RASCAL
7. IZZY MAY

Race 6 – 4:45PM AMELIA PARK HANDICAP (2000 METRES)

No surprise to see COLLABORATE salute. Will be fitter for two runs back from a break and whacked away well enough against much stronger opposition over 2200m last start. Did place in Ratings 72+ company when last in work, appears very well placed back in this grade and can stay, so can give this a shake. PEARLS FROM HEAVEN looks the likely favourite, with solid recent form, but is racing beyond 1700m for the first time. FOUR WHITE FOX is likely to have his admirers also considering Durrant/McNaught combo, while PERSISTENCE TIME can be a sharp improver third up over this trip.

Tips: 2-3-1-8
Suggested: 2. COLLABORATE win.

2. COLLABORATE
3. PEARLS FROM HEAVEN
1. FOUR WHITE FOX
8. PERSISTENCE TIME

Race 7 – 5:25PM IRON JACK HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

Loads of contenders in this short-course handicap and opted to land on UNIBRO. Have some time for this fellow and liked the way he finished off when resuming in stronger company than this last start. Jade McNaught has won on him in the past and with galloping room from a low draw, Unibro should prove hard to hold out. PINK ‘N’ GRAY was brave in defeat first up when breezing three-wide. Should get a better run from this draw. NZ import MCEDITH has shown plenty since arriving in WA, while SWEET DREAMIN’ is a big watch at his first start for the Pearce Bros.

Tips: 2-4-8-6
Suggested: 2. UNIBRO win.

2. UNIBRO
4. PINK ‘N’ GRAY
8. MCEDITH
6. SWEET DREAMIN’
