Race 1 – 11:23AM TABTOUCH WESTSPEED PLATINUM MAIDEN (1600 METRES)

Low key start to Belmont Oaks Day with a rather thin maiden, and with low confident JUST UNDER has been locked in on top. Put in one of the runs of the day when resuming at Pinjarra 25/06, making up a stack of late ground after a messy getaway. If apprentice Beaux Edwards can keep Just Under within striking distance, she can worth them over late with only 53kg. Possible leader MISS MARGAUX comes through the same race and really should give his a shake. SPIRITED LAD has competed well in two runs for his new stable and comes through a hot maden, while Pike will no doubt assist FINAL CHILL.

Tips: 9-8-5-3
Suggested: 9. JUST UNDER each way.

9. JUST UNDER
8. MISS MARGAUX
5. SPIRITED LAD
3. FINAL CHILL

Race 2 – 11:58AM FREE ENTRY TO BELMONT PARK PLATE (1200 METRES)

Taking SURVEILLANCE on trust. Spelled after a brave second placing in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic, his two lead-up haven’t been over the top, but his Gemma’s Son, Watch Me Dance and Dom To Shoot formlines stand out like the proverbial. Low draw suits and if he’s right, he should take care of business. SNICKERDOODLEDANDY jumped out of the ground late on debut and looks a nice filly in the making. Maps rearwards again from another high draw, but still has the closing speed to impact. Expecting BLOW ME OUT to make an impression on debut, while you must respect MISS IVY LEAGUE after she made the exciting Reign Of Fire earn the win last start.

Tips: 1-12-13-2
Suggested: 1. SURVEILLANCE win.

1. SURVEILLANCE
12. SNICKERDOODLEDANDY
13. BLOW ME OUT
2. MISS IVY LEAGUE

Race 3 – 12:37PM OLD MATE’S SPORTS BAR AND EATERY PLATE (1200 METRES)

Actually quite keen on one in the form of MYSTERY MAN. Has a lovely pedigree and has impressed at both 1000m lead-up trials, cruising to the line to win his most recent Belmont 22/06 heat. Jordan Turner is one of WA’s form jockeys and saved up, Mystery Miss can launch over the top. First-upper QUEEN BROWN has the score on the board with some good results last prep, and her lead-up trial was solid. Chris Parnham hopping off is noteworthy, but Queen Brown must still rate highly. WUNDERKIND looked sharp enough in her recent trial win and may even lead them up from gate one, while DEVINE BEAST and HOLYOAKE are considered major players also.

Tips: 7-14-13-12
Suggested: 7. MYSTERY MAN each way.

7. MYSTERY MAN
14. WUNDERKIND
13. DEVINE BEAST
12. HOLYOAKE

Race 4 – 1:17PM AMELIA PARK HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

This will be another test for potential superstar SHOWMANSHIP, but expecting him to pass with flying colours. With the likes of seasoned campaigners WRINKLY and ABDICATOR set to make this a genuine 1400-metre assignment, Showmanship will need to earn the win, but this fellow looks the real deal and should just take care of business again. Destined for big things. MANKIND and NOT TO BE MIST fought out the finish over 1200 metres in this grade last start, and look set to duke it out for second behind Showmanship, while Abdicator and Wrinkly are no easy-beats and their best form stacks up strongly.

Tips: 8-5-6-2
Suggested: 8. SHOWMANSHIP win.

8. SHOWMANSHIP
5. MANKIND
6. NOT TO BE MIST
2. ABDICATOR
1. WRINKLY

Race 5 – 1:53PM DEVIL’S LAIR HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

Circling around the 3YOs in this graduation handicap and the classiest of them appears to be LEVITATE. On the quick back up after running into gifted fillies Bright Diamond and Puckapunyal this track/distance last Saturday, and his previous Indian Pacific form reads particularly well also. Levitate may be forced to take up the running, but while he’s a better chaser, he can still win this from out in front. Like the looks of SOWAR and no surprise to see him measure up. Maps backish, but more than capable of charging home into the finish. Jury is out on MONTELENA, but her best form is really impressive, while TIFF HAS SPOKEN is a youngster with a heap of upside.

Tips: 9-11-8-7
Suggested: 9. SOWAR each way.

9. SOWAR
11. MONTELENA
8. TIFF HAS SPOKEN
7. TRULY GREAT

Race 6 – 2:33PM SEACORP HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

More 3YO talent on display, this time over the short-course 1000 metres, with MOOD SWINGS getting the nod on top. Strong behind Indian Pacific and Windstorm two back, he managed to knock off the heavily-commissioned Bright Diamond last time. Back in trip is an obvious query, as is the speed map from the outside alley, but this fellow may just be better than them. Pike is reunited with BOOMTASTIC having paired up for a sharp win this track/distance two back. Must be respected, as does refreshed stablemate AMELIA’S ON FIRE, while WINE NIGHT has the class to make an impact also.

Tips: 6-4-3-5
Suggested: 6. MOOD SWINGS win.

6. MOOD SWINGS
4. BOOMTASTIC
3. AMELIA’S ON FIRE
5. WINE NIGHT

Race 7 – 3:10PM KIRIN MEGUMI HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

Looks a race between quality youngsters LONG BEACH and INDIAN PACIFIC, and thinking a fresh Long Beach will come out on top. Made a splash last prep and was sharpened up for this with a solid Lark Hill 15/06 trial hit-out. Drawn high, but has the gate speed to land within striking distance and the likely even tempo should suit him nicely down on 54kg. Hard to knock Indian Pacific, but he’s not going to get things his own way in front like he has at his last two. Must still be respected. SIR MAMBO was huge behind Son of A God last start and really runs for Jade McNaught, while NERODIO and DOUBLE BUBBLE both have the talent to finish top four.

Tips: 12-4-2-6
Suggested: 12. LONG BEACH win.

12. LONG BEACH
4. INDIAN PACIFIC
2. SIR MAMBO
6. NERODIO
5. DOUBLE BUBBLE

Race 8 – 3:45PM AQUANITA STAKES (2000 METRES)

This Aquanita Stakes is there for the taking and it does really look set up for UNCLE DICK to plot an unlikely path to black-type victory. Is coming through lower graded races than this, but probably should be unbeaten and will relish the rise to 2000m with William Pike riding for the first time. Lindsey Smith stable is firing and Uncle Dick looks the horse to beat. FUHRER endured a torrid run last start and actually did a good job under the circumstances. Gets a more economical run and looks a major player. EURASIA gives the impression he’s ready for this journey now and will appreciate dropping 5kg, while NO APOLOGY is buttering up after last week’s heavily-backed 1600m win.

Tips: 8-6-4-3
Suggested: 8. UNCLE DICK win.

8. UNCLE DICK
6. FUHRER
4. EURASIA
3. NO APOLOGY

Race 9 – 4:20PM BELMONT OAKS (2000 METRES)

Good luck beating exceptional filly KAY CEE in the Belmont Oaks. Has got the job done in both feature lead-up assignments, and while it hasn’t been easy, her class and will to win has shone through on each occasion. Steve Parnham should have her sweetly positioned from this alley and it would be a significant upset if one of these fillis happens to knock her off. The unbeaten CHANTREA is the intriguing runner. Has obviously never faced a horse the quality of Kay Cee, but Chantrea has some real weapons and deserves to be considered the main danger, while quality fillies CAMBIST and KARIJINI AURORA round out an obvious First Four.
10. HEAVEN’S GIFT

Tips: 4-2-3-10
Suggested: 4. CHANTREA win.

4. CHANTREA
2. CAMBIST
3. KARIJINI AURORA
10. HEAVEN’S GIFT

Race 10 – 4:55PM CROWN PERTH HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

Talented type SERENITY BAY ticks all the boxes and looks the obvious way to go, but confident one of WA’s most fascinating horses KING BLITZ can take it up to the likely fave. King Blitz had a heap against him last start, but still managed a significant third placing, and with that run under his belt, a better draw and no bar shoes, we should see a superior version of him in this. If Ramoly can keep Serenity Bay in his sights, King Blitz can wear her down. He will need to be on top of his game though, as the Pike-ridden Serenity Bay goes really good. FRED DAG and PROCONSENT are major players, while the lightly-weighted RESISTANCE must be included in all your exotics.

Tips: 1-14-5-3
Suggested: 1. KING BLITZ win.

1. KING BLITZ
14. SERENITY BAY
5. FRED DAG
3. PROCONSENT
13. RESISTANCE
