Race 1 – 1:52PM TABTOUCH – BETTER YOUR BET HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

Promising filly SHUWISH is the one to beat. Have tracked her closely all year and after a luckless debut run, she’s gone on to record strong back-to-back Pinjarra victories as an odds-on fave. Can lead or race on-pace, so she maps to get every chance, and this does look likely to be a sit-and-sprint affair, so she should be too fast late. I AM SPARTACUS has his share of ability also and is a real competitor. Stable has opted to claim, but he should appreciate this trip and just needs galloping room from gate one. ROCK THIS COUNTRY and ACTION FIGURE look next best, and will both be fancied.

Tips: 3-1-2-4
Suggested: 3. SHUWISH win.

3. SHUWISH
1. I AM SPARTACUS
2. ROCK THIS COUNTRY
4. ACTION FIGURE

Race 2 – 2:27PM MORLEY GROWERS MARKET MAIDEN (1400 METRES)

A full field makes this interesting to assess, but all things being equal DIVINE QUEST should give followers a run for their money. Settled rearwards from barrier 13 last time and made up a stack of late ground to finish third, and she should find a more prominent running position from this low draw. Capable of elevating off that run and with even luck she goes close. I’M PRETTY was only plain first up, but that has proven to be a strong form reference and she looks suited up to 1400m, with Pike and blinkers on. RAW ENERGY rolls forward and boxes on, while EMPOWERED is race fit and in form.

Tips: 12-13-8-5
Suggested: 12. DIVINE QUEST win.

12. DIVINE QUEST
13. I’M PRETTY
8. RAW ENERGY
5. EMPOWERED

Race 3 – 3:05PM AMELIA PARK LAMB HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

MY DEMI is a hard horse to catch, but this does look the most suitable race he’s contested for some time. Massive behind the flying Fabergino in a very fast Ascot 1000m event two back, but was brought unstuck by some unseasonal conditions Ascot 9/3. Is a backmarker, so is suited with the rail out midweek and expecting him to rebound. RAISE A SMILE has promised a lot but hasn’t delivered this prep, but the blinkers and Pike go on for this assignment and no surprise to see Durrant improve her. First-uppers ROUTE EIGHTY EIGHT and PARTY NIGHT have both trialled well and warrant consideration.

Tips: 1-6-7-9
Suggested: 1. MY DEMI win.

1. MY DEMI
6. RAISE A SMILE
7. ROUTE EIGHTY EIGHT
9. PARTY NIGHT

Race 4 – 3:40PM HOSEMASTERS HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

DAWN MISSION looks the one in this competitive short-course handicap. Was a good result when saluting over this track/distance two back and was huge in defeat down the Pinjarra Straight 1000 last time, clocking sizzling late sections. Likes to be ridden patiently, but if the gaps appear she’s going to be hard to hold out. RAPISARDA was coming off a setback when unplaced for this first time this prep Ascot 2/3. Solid run when a $6 chance on that occasion and he has to be a major player in this. GUNS OF NAVARONE and DON’T FUSS are both close to winning, but have high draws to overcome.

Tips: 7-5-4-2
Suggested: 7. DAWN MISSION each way.

7. DAWN MISSION
5. RAPISARDA
4. GUNS OF NAVARONE
2. DON’T FUSS

Race 5 – 4:10PM HEINEKEN 3 HANDICAP (1800 METRES)

COMBAT READY is an interesting horse and if he can put it all together, will be hard to hold out rising to 1800m fourth up this prep. Has been fairly costly to follow over the journey, but he has share of ability and should have raced his way towards peak fitness. The outside alley is a query, but with a patient ride he should have plenty of fuel left to launch late. ACERMETRIC looks the horse to beat, having competed in better races than this recently. Gives himself every chance on top of the speed. As does possible leader JACKA’S MOB, while EYE ART is certainly bred to relish this trip.

Tips: 3-1-2-5
Suggested: 3. COMBAT READY each way.

3. COMBAT READY
1. ACERMETRIC
2. JACKA’S MOB
5. PICASSO BAY

Race 6 – 4:45PM LAVAZZA HANDICAP (2200 METRES)

UNENDING was heavily backed and got the cash in a similar assignment to this last start, and she’s going to be very hard to beat again. Is capable of rolling forward from her mid draw to settle on-pace and from there she really should get every opportunity. Race fit, in form and stays well, so she’s the obvious. HIGH ENERGY is coming back from stronger races, but will be rearwards from the high draw with 60kg. Still expected to go close, as is fellow backmarker BRONZE WING, who has ability and should be strong late. While THREADS OF IVEY turned the corner last time and warrants consideration.

Tips: 7-1-2-8
Suggested: 7. UNENDING each way.

7. UNENDING
1. HIGH ENERGY
2. BRONZE WING
8. THREADS OF IVEY

Race 7 – 5:15PM IRON JACK HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

Not a bad contest to finish up this midweek card and have a bit of time for DUCK DUCK GOOSE, so happy to have her on top. Knuckled down to chase the sharp Bedouin Belle first up Bunbury 10/3 and did well to close to within a half-length on the line. Expected to elevate second up and maps well from the mid draw. Hard to fault the recent form of the race-hardened GOOD FORTUNE and she looks suited from the draw. Stablemate OVER THERE is a fairly promising type and won well first up. Will be swooping late, while possible leader PATRISTIC trialled well and is expected to fire first up.

Tips: 6-7-10-4
Suggested: 6. DUCK DUCK GOOSE win.

6. DUCK DUCK GOOSE
7. GOOD FORTUNE
10. OVER THERE
4. PATRISTIC
