Race 1 – 1:02PM HAHN SUPERDRY HANDICAP (1500 METRES)

Looking forward to this clash between BLACKFURY and UNI TIME, and locking in Blackfury on top. Produced a slashing Pinjarra 24/2 debut effort, clocking the fastest last 200m of the day, and he’ll obviously be suited in this smaller field. Looks a nice horse in the making and will be hard to hold out. Big fan of Uni Time, and he was able to get himself out of a jam and still win at Pinjarra 28/2. Has a very bright future. DIVINE SHADOW was coming off a 34-day break last time and the run should bring him forward. Stable’s in form also, while ZEPHYR QUEEN should roll forward and box on well late.

Tips: 3-2-1-6
Suggested: 3. BLACKFURY win.

3. BLACKFURY
2. UNI TIME
1. DIVINE SHADOW
6. ZEPHYR QUEEN

Race 2 – 1:37PM GLENROY CHAFF HANDICAP (2200 METRES)

Difficult to separate Classics-bound 3YOs WITHOUT REASON and LADY SASS, and eventually sided with Without Reason, who has the stronger platform for this 2200m assignment. Without Reason was pulling away from both APPARITION and MACKENZIE BROOKE at the finish over 1800m last start, and he deserves to be considered one of the major players in next month’s WA Derby. WA Oaks is on the agenda for classy filly Lady Sass, but she is facing a decent task after winning over 1500m second up last start, while Apparition and Mackenzie Brooke are both top-four contenders again.

Tips: 1-2-3-5
Suggested: 1. WITHOUT REASON win.

1. WITHOUT REASON
2. LADY SASS
3. APPARITION
5. MACKENZIE BROOKE

Race 3 – 2:12PM DAVID GRAYS AGLINK HANDICAP (2200 METRES)

This looks a nice race for BRONZE WING. Got the cash is what’s proven to be a very strong form reference second up and was doing his best work late over 1800m last start. Should settle closer from the better draw in this smaller field, and regular rider Steven Parnham back on board is a positive. UNENDING has been knocking on the door and is rock hard after three 2000m-plus runs in succession. Expected to roll forward and fight out the finish. ZERO DEMERITS raced on speed and boxed on well enough over 1800m last time, while LAYLO can elevate with the blinkers on from a low draw.

Tips: 1-9-2-7
Suggested: 1. BRONZE WING win.

1. BRONZE WING
9. UNENDING
2. ZERO DEMERITS
7. LAYLO

Race 4 – 2:47PM ASCEND SALES TROPHIES PLATE (1100 METRES)

Interesting race for the 2YOs and there is a bit of talent engaged. Have been impressed with the trial form of DIVIDE THE SEA, and happy to have him on top after he matched strides with brilliant filly Specialism in a Belmont 5/3 1000m heat. With a clean getaway from the low draw, should get a nice run and only needs galloping room to go close. Fellow debutantes WILCHINO and NOBEL TIME have looked very sharp in their respective barrier trial wins, and both fillies map to advantage from inside alleys, while first-upper PURE DYNAMITE was solid on debut and the Prim And Proper form reads well.

Tips: 3-9-8-1
Suggested: 3. DIVIDE THE SEA win.

3. DIVIDE THE SEA
9. WILCHINO
8. NOBEL TIME
1. PURE DYNAMITE

Race 5 – 3:17PM PERTH RACING YOUNG MEMBERSHIP HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

BEAUTIFUL MIND could be anything and will be all the rage in this. Alarming drifter ($2.45 to $3.30) first up, but made a mockery of the market by leading and hammering her rivals in the highest-rating performance of the day. Has to be noted W. Pike is not in the saddle, but Beautiful Mind has a reasonable class edge on these and she should be winning again. Expecting FROSTY BEVERAGE to come forward after an even first-up effort, but does have a potentially awkward draw. DON’T FUSS was strong first up and maps to advantage again, while SOUND OF FURY can show some cheek at odds.

Tips: 5-4-1-9
Suggested: 5. BEAUTIFUL MIND win.

5. BEAUTIFUL MIND
4. FROSTY BEVERAGE
1. DON’T FUSS
9. SOUND OF FURY

Race 6 – 3:52PM RENTOKIL INITIAL HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

Hard to look past NO MEAN FEET. Cleaned up both FAMILY DISCUSSION and GOOD FORTUNE to easily win his maiden two back, before adsorbing significant pressure when leading from barrier 10 last time, before being gunned down late. Should lead from the low draw and prove very hard to run down. Good Fortune is really put it together and is coming off an overdue maiden win. Holding peak form and has to be a major player again. Family Discussion tried hard up in grade last time, but is suited coming back to this company. Draw makes things tricky, while BURGOYNE was solid in a similar event last start.

Tips: 1-6-2-5
Suggested: 1. NO MEAN FEET win.

1. NO MEAN FEET
6. GOOD FORTUNE
2. FAMILY DISCUSSION
5. BURGOYNE

Race 7 – 4:30PM NATIONAL APPRENTICES’ CHALLENGE (1800 METRES)

The National Apprentices’ Challenge is a good initiative for the junior riders and we’re leaning towards local Shelby Colgate to guide GOLGOTHA across the line. Nailed in a head-bobber at Bunbury last week, after a luckless Narrogin Cup run, and with even luck from the low draw, he should be hard to beat. SEND MY LOVE has her share of ability and was brave in defeat at Pinjarra 28/2. Has an in-form Kate Witten on board also. Expecting Michael Poy to roll forward on the consistent LANGLEY, while PATCHIRAC is holding form and has to be considered a top-four chance.

Tips: 1-4-7-12
Suggested: 1. GOLGOTHA each way.

1. GOLGOTHA
4. SEND MY LOVE
7. LANGLEY
12. PATCHIRAC

Race 8 – 5:10PM HOSEMASTERS HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

Wide-open handicap to end the program and siding with UNIVERSAL MAE each way. Finished a close-up fourth in a similar assignment to this three weeks back and does have the services of Mitchell Pateman, who is coming off a career-best four win haul at Ascot on Saturday. With even luck from a mid draw, Universal Mae goes close. WANTED DESIRE unleashed late to record a big win in this company last start. Needs luck the way she races, but with galloping room should be hard to hold out. LORD LUDLOW races on-speed and boxes on well, while expecting first-upper EVERYMILE A MEMORY to run a race fresh.

Tips: 6-10-1-9
Suggested: 6. UNIVERSAL MAE each way.

6. UNIVERSAL MAE
10. WANTED DESIRE
1. LORD LUDLOW
9. EVERYMILE A MEMORY
