Race 1 – 12:54PM CARBINE CLUB OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA MAIDEN (1200 METRES)
Happy to side with WESTERN PRIDE on debut. The Peters Investments 3YO covered additional ground and stretched out stylishly to score a soft Lark Hill 29/4 trial win. Should be able to hold a midfield running position in transit and looks to have the engine to run over the top late. First-upper OKINA KURI has some ability and maps to enjoy a nice run just behind the leaders. Like the way he hit the line in his lead-up trial also. Possible leader JUST TOO HOT is also first up and impressed with a dominant 2.7L trial win, while ASCOT GOLD will also challenge for the lead and box on late.
Suggested: 14. WESTERN PRIDE win.

Race 2 – 1:34PM TONY BRENNAN LIFE MEMBER HANDICAP (1200 METRES)
Good clash between promising fillies FLOWER OF WAR and DEVOTED STAR, and the front-running Flower Of War should have enough head-start to hold on late. Cruised to a smart first-up win this track/distance and looks capable of elevating further, and not may stables in better shape than Simon A. Miller’s at present. First-upper Devoted Star is a half to the exceptional Enticing Star and created an impression with her debut win. She’s going to be mighty hard to hold out. On-pacer SON OF BACCHUS can box on strongly first up, while UNIVERSAL APPEAL is race fit, in form and maps to advantage.
Suggested: 4. FLOWER OF WAR win.

7. UNIVERSAL APPEAL

Race 3 – 2:14PM RICK HART LIFE MEMBER PLATE (1000 METRES)
Wide-open race for the juveniles and the Lark Hill 23/4 trial win from MIAMI MOON was strong enough to suggests she’s a major player on debut. Hailing from the red-hot Pearce Bros camp, this filly was trapped wide in that trial, but was still capable of working past the regarded We’ve Got Dreams. Maps well and junior rider is flying. First-starter and possible leader MISS TYCOON is expected to take some beating. Trialled nicely at Lark Hill 23/4. First-upper EYE OF THE DAY has some talent and gives herself every chance up on top of the speed, while MISS ELLMYA should be strong late.
Suggested: 10. MIAMI MOON each way.

11. MISS TYCOON
5. EYE OF THE DAY
6. MISS ELLMYA
Race 4 – 2:55PM DARREN MCAULLAY LIFE MEMBER HANDICAP (1400 METRES)
Hard to look past the unbeaten NOT TO BE MIST. Attacked the line with strength to win on debut last December, before an even better finishing burst to salute first up at Pinjarra 17/4. Ran down the promising Lido Beach on that occasion, with those formlines stacking up well, and Not to Be Mist is expected to relish the rise to 1400m also. CRYPTO is the obvious major danger after getting the job done back on his home deck last start. Still learning, but certainly has a bit of talent. OVER THERE will be running on hard late, while likely leader ARCHANT is expected to elevate second up.
Suggested: 3. NOT TO BE MIST win.

Race 5 – 3:30PM LLOYD MEREDITH LIFE MEMBER HANDICAP (2200 METRES)
BRITISH BESSY goes on top with William Pike in the saddle. One of unluckiest horses in training, connections have turned to ‘The Wizard’ after a series of tough beats, and despite being a 10-start maiden, this mare is certainly a major player in this. With a typically patient ride from Pike, British Bessy can swoop over the top. Likely leader JACKA’S MOB has race fitness on his side, with the 2000m already run under his belt. Expecting him to take some running down. THROWDOWN will appreciate the low draw and extra distance third up, while the honest SCINTILLATING has to warrant consideration.
Suggested: 5. BRITISH BESSY each way.

1. JACKA’S MOB
Race 6 – 4:05PM GRAHAM MOSS LIFE MEMBER HANDICAP (1600 METRES)
PATRISTIC carried 59.5kg to a dominant Ascot 1500m win last start and he looks the one they all have to catch again. This fellow has shown his class already this prep with strong performances against the likes of Inflation and Soy Tan Rapido, so his form is strong, and he looks a 4YO on the rise. STARTTHEFRIAR reminded everyone of his ability with a strong first-up win, and Pelican Pick has franked the form since. Should be running home hard late. PERCEPTIVE MISS looks suited on 54kg from the low draw, and should be peaking third up, while LANGLEY is racing well and a top-four lock.
Suggested: 1. PATRISTIC win.
13. PERCEPTIVE MISS
Race 7 – 4:45PM LIN RYAN LIFE MEMBER HANDICAP (1400 METRES)
Have followed FRIAR’S FANTASIA closely all campaign and happy to stick with her again. Appeared a little flat in a quirky Graduation Handicap last time, but the Pearce Bros have put the blinkers back on and expecting her to be ridden a little more patiently on this occasion. If she relaxes and conserves early, should be too strong late. UNIKAT tried hard first up for his new stable. Bar plates on is an obvious concern, but blinkers and Pike on are both major positives. No surprise to see SUPREME FORCE bounce back in this grade, while FLYING ROAR is in good form this prep and maps to advantage.
Suggested: 10. FRIAR’S FANTASIA each way.
