Race 1 – 12:22PM RELIABLE ASSET MAINTENANCE HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

AWESOME CHATTER narrowly gets the nod on top. This will be his sixth run for the prep, so pretty deep into the campaign, but liked the way he let down behind Hear Me Sing at Ascot 8/01. Think he’s a better horse with cover, so if CJP can get a smother in transit Awesome Chatter can be too strong late. Really like BANDALERA BEAU as a horse and his first-up win was excellent. Good opportunity for 4kg claimer Taj Dyson and they may even look to control this from out in front. UNI QUEEN wasn’t far away behind Awesome Chatter on the line last start and has to be a factor again, while DALHOUSIE gets back and runs on and forget ELITE FIGHTER went around last start.

Tips: 3-1-6-5
Suggested: 3. AWESOME CHATTER win.

1. BANDALERA BEAU
6. UNI QUEEN
5. DALHOUSIE
2. ELITE FIGHTER

Race 2 – 1:02PM HEINEKEN 3 MAIDEN (1400 METRES)

Thinking ROMMEL’S JEUNEY can lead throughout and secure a Maiden victory. Looked home-and-hosed first up before being nailed right on the line by Dalhousie, and is expected to come forward following that hit-out. Going to take some catching out in front. Didn’t mind the way PARLARE worked home first up at Pinjarra 3/01 and the form out of that race has stood up since. Maps nicely with McGruddy in the saddle. RULELEE gets a senior back on and expect to see her flashing late from back in the field. LA GALEXIA ran some decent late splits first up and maps sweetly from this low draw, while AL TINA is racing well but the high draw hinders.

Tips: 3-1-6-10
Suggested: 3. ROMMEL’S JEUNEY win.

3. ROMMEL’S JEUNEY
1. PARLARE
6. RULELEE
10. LA GALEXIA
7. AL TINA

Race 3 – 1:42PM CROWN PERTH PLATE (1100 METRES)

If sharp sprinter SPIN THE KNIFE turns up he’ll get the job done first up with 60.5kg. Was gunning for a third straight win when nutted late by Liwa in the Ascot 3YO Classic in October, with the winner going on to claim the listed Lee Steere Classic. Expected to find the front and well rated by Mitchell Pateman can hold that closers at bay. VIA MONTE looks capable of making the next step and was pretty slick in his first-up midweek win. Saved up, he has the closing speed to make things interesting. PIXIE CHIX has had little luck from awkward alleys at her last two. Drawn to elevate. RIVER RUBICON is a nice horse in the making and will be doing his best work late, while blinkers go on the race-fit COLD SHIZZLE.

Tips: 1-6-4-3
Suggested: 1. SPIN THE KNIFE win.

1. SPIN THE KNIFE
6. VIA MONTE
4. PIXIE CHIX
3. COLD SHIZZLE
2. GUARD THE SAFE

Race 4 – 2:22PM MAGIC MILLIONS PLATE (1100 METRES)

No surprise to see a full field in action with only two weeks until the $250,000 Magic Millions 2YO Classic and thinking STREET PARADE can overcome a wide draw to remain unbeaten. Was excellent on debut when gunning down the well-regarded Snowdome and looked in really good nick when breezing up in a 400m Belmont 17/01 trial. Has the gate speed to work forward and take up a prominent running position, and will take some beating from there. $220,000 yearling RED HOT GOODS has looked the goods in his three trial wins. Has to be a factor on debut. Stablemates and last-start winners SHEEZA BELTER and MAN CRUSH will both have admirers, while the run of SHE’S GREYSFUL on debut was an eye-catcher.

Tips: 2-8-3-1
Suggested: 2. STREET PARADE win.

2. STREET PARADE
8. RED HOT GOODS
3. SHEEZA BELTER
1. MAN CRUSH
11. SHE’S GREYSFUL

Race 5 – 3:02PM TABTOUCH – WESTSPEED PLATINUM HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

Sticking with big-finishing mare SPEEDBIRD. Looks to have taken a step forward this prep and the form around her reads well lined up against this opposition. Was able to rattle off big sectionals with 59.5kg and 58.5kg at her last two, we just need Brad Rawiller to have her wound up and within striking distance on straightening. ALL IN RED met with support first up and performed well. Strips fitter, suited at the mile and gets a positive map. SNIPPY MISS cashed in on a polished CJP steer to salute in this grade two weeks back. Has to warrant consideration again. GOLD MERITS hit the line hard in the same race and the stable have added blinkers to extract a length or two, while CHAMPAGNE GAL was stiff not to salute at Pinjarra 13/01.

Tips: 1-5-3-11
Suggested: 1. SPEEDBIRD win.

1. SPEEDBIRD
5. ALL IN RED
3. SNIPPY MISS
11. CHAMPAGNE GAL
9. PETITE LA FEMME

Race 6 – 3:35PM BELHUS RACING STABLES HANDICAP (2200 METRES)

Hard to look past COME RIGHT BACK. Did have Pike on when comfortably taking care of a similar line up last start, coming from last and following the second-placegetter’s every move. Tactics from 3kg claimer Holly Watson will be interesting and she may even send Come Right Back forward in a race without a noted front-runner, and that might not be the worst place to be at a very hot Ascot with easterlies blowing. BLACK CHIPS is flying for Tony Giglietta, hitting his straps as a 9YO. Is a tough, old-fashioned stayer and can make the fave sweat. Reckon VIC import CHUCK A LUCK is just about ready to show something, TRULY RELIABLE comes back to a more suitable assignment after a Perth Cup mission, and THE ROAN RANGER is a bit of a tease but will win one soon.

Tips: 1-3-6-11
Suggested: 1. COME RIGHT BACK win.

1. COME RIGHT BACK
3. BLACK CHIPS
6. TRULY RELIABLE
11. THE ROAN RANGER
7. CONQUERED ZONE

Race 7 – 4:10PM VALE DR JOE MCDERMOTT HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

Found this one a real challenge, from the speed map to the market, and eventually settled on COMES A TIME first-up for the Michael Grantham yard. Always liked this fellow and he appeared to stretch out sweetly in a Lark Hill 10/01 trial, so all systems go for this. Parked up just behind the expected hot tempo, Comes A Time will be well positioned to launch over the top late. MANTELLI has been finding one better recently but hard to fault his efforts. Still running fast and will give himself a chance on-speed. Expecting MISS FROST to sizzle first up as always, PLATINUM BULLET sliding down to fourth pick is a bit silly after her brilliant last-start win, but 59kg may blunt her a touch, and it won’t surprise anyone to see promising type NOBEL LAURENCE figure in the finish first up.

Tips: 6-7-5-8
Suggested: 6. COMES A TIME win.

6. COMES A TIME
7. MANTELLI
5. MISS FROST
8. NOBEL LAURENCE
1. PLUTOCRACY

Race 8 – 4:45PM WESTERN RACEPIX HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

Looks a good setup for MISS VASARI. 21 days between runs puts some freshness back in the legs and although appearing a little flat over the 1400m last start, that was a strong race considering the formlines to emerge since. Lands midfield from this draw and with a patient Brad Rawiller steer, she can storm past the leaders late. LONDON MISS is getting back to recapturing some peak form. Expecting positive tactics from the high draw. JEDI MIND is much better than his last run suggests, likely leader VANE TEMPEST is tough and may appreciate coming back up to 1200m, while WEDNESDAY maps nicely and is rarely out of the money.

Tips: 4-2-1-12
Suggested: 4. MISS VASARI win.

4. MISS VASARI
2. JEDI MIND
1. VANE TEMPEST
12. WEDNESDAY
5. BEAU ZOOM

Race 9 – 5:20PM HAPPY BIRTHDAY CALLIE BURTON HANDICAP (1800 METRES)

Putting some faith in Cerise And White-clad PRIZED MISS. Liked the way she worked to the line first up and was too strong as a $2.45 fave at Pinjarra 6/01, in a race that rated well time-wise. Settling rearwards coming to town, Prized Miss is going to have to do plenty right, but backing in CJP to make the right moves and provide her an opportunity to contend. CLASSIC ROGUE was super stiff not to salute in this grade two weeks back. Enjoying a terrific prep and just needs luck drifting backish from the low draw. Things didn’t go to plan for FAIRY FAST last start and although getting deep into her prep she’s still an obvious major player. BENJI’S is never far away, while NEVER SOBER was three-wide no cover the entire when saluting at Pinjarra 13/01.

Tips: 7-4-3-5
Suggested: 7. PRIZED MISS win.

7. PRIZED MISS
4. CLASSIC ROGUE
3. FAIRY FAST
5. BENJI’S
11. NEVER SOBER

Race 10 – 5:55PM CELEBRATION OF LIFE DAY TROPHY (1500 METRES)

Competitive feature this and siding with THE SPRUIKER once again. Couldn’t run down LORENTINIO last start but really like the way he knuckled down to the task, and confident he can elevate off that hit-out third up. Likely rolls forward and may even land outside (or tuck in behind) likely leader Lorentinio, and you’d back him in from there. Not a lot went right for PROCONSENT in the two weeks back and coiled up from gate one, he may very well overwhelm them with clear galloping room late. Stablemate BERET has been a revelation this prep, racking up four straight wins. Interesting CJP has hopped off, so it’s over to Paul Harvey to make it work from the outside gate. LORENTINIO doesn’t deviate from what he does well and good luck running him down if conditions suit.

Tips: 4-8-6-7
Suggested: 4. THE SPRUIKER win.

4. THE SPRUIKER
8. PROCONSENT
6. LORENTINIO
7. DOM TO SHOOT
3. LUKE’S GOLD

Race 11 – 6:33PM AMELIA PARK HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

Some real up-and-comers clashing in the form of SHE’S A SWEET DEEL and BURNYA TO SURVIVE, and leaning towards the Gangemi Bros mare She’s A Sweet Deel over the 1400m. Came on strongly for a soft second-up Belmont 5/01 win and looks ready to strut her stuff on Saturdays. Drifts back from the draw, but with a reasonable cart up she has the weapons to gun the leaders down late. Burnya To Survive couldn’t have been more impressive in his first Saturday appearance last start. Capable of running big late splits over 1200m and gets to show his range stretching out to 1400m. REIGN OF FIRE would’ve gone on top if not for a heel issue that saw him scratched last Saturday. CREATOR will be eager to find the front and control proceedings, while no surprise to see a slashing second-up effort from KALLAROO.

Tips: 10-7-4-2
Suggested: 10. SHE’S A SWEET DEEL win.

10. SHE’S A SWEET DEEL
7. BURNYA TO SURVIVE
4. REIGN OF FIRE
2. CREATOR
6. KALLAROO
