The fairy tale run of success for trainer Vaughn Sigley and connections of Black Heart Bart continued on Sunday when the 4YO son of Blackfriars came from seventh on the turn to win the $120,000 Listed Pinjarra Classic (1300m) by 2.5 lengths running away from them. Sigley also trained the runner up Dawn Approach.
Black Heart Bart took his record to 6 wins (including the Listed Cyril Flower Stakes, Listed WATC Carbine Club of WA Stakes & Listed WATC Summer Scorcher) and 7 placings (including the Gr3 WATC Asian Beau Stakes) from 17 starts for $441,400 earnings.
Sigley was quoted as saying that he may bypass the Bunbury Stakes should he be penalised too severely, and instead, look at a trip to Adelaide for a crack at the $500,000 Group 1 Goodwood Handicap over 1200 metres.
