After a disappointing performance in the Mount Barker-Mungrup Sprint, Paul Hunter’s Talk Of Angels will be looking to rebound today at Albany.
Although winless in the current campaign, Talk Of Angels ostensibly improved from a subdued cameo at Belmont in September, having finished within a length of the winner in her first two races since returning.
When asked about the Mungrup Sprint failure on TABradio, trainer Paul Hunter eluded to the quality of the race, as well as the conditions.
“Yeah it was very warm and the race was strong and ultimately she struggled that day, I thought she would go better than that” he stated.
Finishing eight lengths from the rising star sprinter Dawn Approach, and only beating one horse home, today’s race appears far more manageable.
“She’s back to her right grade today and I think she’ll be very competitive” he added.
Drawn barrier two, apprentice jockey Casey Hunter should be in control of her race positioning, akin to her only ride on the five year old mare, finish just a length behind Le Sacre.
“I think she’ll nearly lead today and hopefully she (Casey Hunter) can rate her and she’ll be hard to beat” said Paul Hunter.
Talk Of Angels races in the Murray French – Westcoast Livestock Handicap at 4:12pm today at Albany Racecourse.
