Race Meetings Update Due to Hot Weather Forecasts

Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) advises that due to the extreme hot weather conditions forecasted for the wheatbelt region, the following changes have been made to scheduled race meetings within the area:

  • Northam Race Club’s race meeting on Thursday 14 November, will be relocated to Ascot Racecourse.
  • Greyhounds WA’s Northam race meeting on Monday 18 November, will be relocated to Cannington.

RWWA stewards will also continue to monitor forecasted weather conditions to determine whether the race meeting scheduled at the Central Wheatbelt Harness Racing Club on Sunday 17 November will proceed.

The safety and welfare of racing animals and industry participants is of paramount concern and RWWA has well established hot weather policies that ensure the proper management of extreme weather conditions.
