I am now heading towards my first trial. It has been around eleven weeks since I left home. What a ride so far. I am not too keen getting up so early six days a week and doing the hard yards putting miles into my legs on slow work days. But I can tell you; I enjoy the fast work. Us thoroughbreds were born to run, and the feeling when the jockey lets me up the tempo feels good.
I have been following Dad’s progress as a stallion, and it is great to see he has now sired eight individual winners. More importantly, he has already sired a Group 3 winner in Lordhelpmerun, who won the WATC Sire Produce Stakes and came third in WA’s most prestigious 2YO race, the WATC Karrakatta Plate.
Dad is also the sire of one of my stablemates, Platoon, who ran second in the listed WATC Perth Stakes and third in the Group 3 WATC Sire Produce Stakes.
I will drop you another note after my trial.
