Three Listed races highlights this weekend’s Ascot program, and what a challenging array of fields we have for punters to negotiate.
The stand out would have to be the Trevor Andrews trained PALACE INTRUDER in the Lex Piper.
Did everything but win the Challenge Stakes a fortnight ago, when hitting the line in a three-way go with Bob Peters duo Neverland and Delicacy only to go down my a mere short head.
It was its best run to date this time in for the Oratorio 3yo who should find this company more to its liking.
One of the many great showdowns on the card comes in the sixth, where multiple winners Temporise and She’s A Virtue clash, but I’m leaning on a boil over with MAD BRAD to spoil the party.
It was an eye-catching run first up for the Ben Pearce prepared 4yo who is likely to sit back and have the final crack at its more fancied opponents, while the last is once again a lottery and with that in mind I’m heading for value with FULL STEAM AHEAD.
The Trade Fair 7yo has an excellent first up record, and despite carrying the grandstand (62.5kgs), apprentice Jake Casey will claim three to make the impost a little more bearable.
As for the other features – LONDON LINE has drawn to even the ledger with Chantski in the Supremacy Stakes, while I’ll stay with NEVERLAND with no confidence in the 1000 Guineas.
