Comments: No feature race to speak of this week at Ascot, but regardless the card is very strong and I feel we may be in for a few mixed results this weekend. Despite the value presenting, it is very hard to go past the David Harrison trained speed-machine SHEIDEL in the third. Sat outside the Perth Magic Millions 3YO runner up Fire Born in its last start, before giving the leader windburn from the top of the turn – sizzling to the line for a 3 ¼ length hiding. It disposed of the classy Battle Hero in much the same manner the start prior, so we expect the $1.80 fav to firm further come race day. Straight from the Black Book comes the Eachway and Maddie selections – with BACK TO A WALK opening at a tight $5.00 as a result of its barnstorming performance behind Proceedwithcaution last start, while COMMON APPROACH put in a superb finishing effort after blowing the start the other week – most horses would have finished a lot further back than the eye-catching minor placing it incredibly secured.
