Magic Millions Pinjarra – The Wash Up

Pinjarra 10 February 2018

Favourites:  3 favourites won on the day.

Longest Price Winner: Storm Dancer (win $8.30, place $3.00 TABtouch).

First 5 At Turn: 4 of 8 winners came from the first five at turn.

First 5 Last Start:  7 of 8 winners finished in the first five last start.

Last Start Winners:  3 last start winners won again.

Largest Winning Margin: Sandalwood  – 2.00 lengths.

Fastest Last 600 Metres: Gee Boss – 33.58 seconds.

Trainers:  SIMON MILLER declared he had a smart batch of 2yo’s in his ranks, and one could not have be more impressed with the debut run from his Giant Frost gelding Valour Road who led throughout in a dominant display to take out the Magic Millions 2YO Classic. It was the second leg of a training double for Miller who had earlier prepared Royal Missile to its third win on the trot when successful in the Pearl Classic. Epic Grey has proven itself a worthy competitor for LINDSAY SMITH, but its performance in the Magic Millions 3YO Trophy was simply enormous – sitting wide without cover for the majority before presenting on the turn and racing away with the co-feature.

Jockeys: Gem of a ride from AARON MITCHELL who rated newcomer Valour Road to perfection to dictate terms upfront to claim the Magic Millions 2YO Classic, before DANIEL STAECK ground away with iron horse Epic Grey to deny rivals in the Magic Millions 3YO Trophy.

WA Stallions: 3 of 8 winners were bred by local stallions.
