Arcadia Queen To Repeat History

Owner Bob Peters believes Arcadia Queen is a top chance to repeat history in the Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) at Ascot on Saturday.

Peters says his gun three-year-old can replicate Perfect Reflection and become the second filly to win the $1 million weight-for-age race.

His confidence in Arcadia Queen, a brilliant winner of the Champion Fillies Stakes (1600m) and WA Guineas (1600m), received a big boost yesterday.

Peters drew barrier six for the well-bred daughter of Pierro, who consolidated her position at the head of TAB markets, firming to $2.50 favouritism.

Arcadia Queen, stable mates Galaxy Star and Perfect Jewel and Star Exhibit give Peters a potent four-pronged attack in the Kingston Town Classic.

Railway Stakes winner Galaxy Star, to be ridden by Chris Parnham for the first time, eased to $5 second favouritism after drawing barrier 14.

Peters’ said because of her racing pattern, Arcadia Queen was the pick of his four runners.

“Because of her racing style I will go with the filly,” Peters said.

“She is good and I hope she can do it because that’s what she is here for.

“There is a lot of speed and a lot of the horses that go forward are inside of us.

“I think that first 100 and 150 metres is going to be very interesting.

“Galaxy Star will go out the back as usual.”

William Pike sits on Arcadia Queen after partnering Galaxy Star in the Railway.

Peter Hall gets on Perfect Jewel after her luckless fourth in the Railway Stakes two weeks ago.

Jarrad Noske picks up the mount on Star Exhibit, a last-start seventh in the Railway.

“He is getting fitter now and it’s taken him a long time to get back,” Peters said.

“It was a good run last-start and if you look at his last 600m, I think it was the second or third fastest.

“He might be ready.”

Perfect Jewel is current at $17 and Star Exhibit $34.
